ABOUT THE TRAINING

Mental Health First Aid for Adults teaches professionals and community members how to recognize signs of mental health or substance abuse challenges in adults 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care, if necessary. Through this course, participants will be prepared when a mental health crisis happens and know what to do.

WHAT IT COVERS

  • Common signs and symptoms of mental illness
  • Common signs and symptoms of substance abuse
  • How to interact with a person in crisis
  • How to connect the person with help
  • Expanded content on trauma, addiction and self-care
